PDHPE & SPORTS PROGRAMS

Grant funding and partnerships for school sport programs

Several government funding programs reduce or remove the cost of structured sport and PDHPE delivery for eligible primary schools. As a registered provider, Educ8 works within each of these programs and can help schools identify what they qualify for and support the application before you submit.

OVERVIEW

Making programs accessible for schools

Budget is a consistent barrier to booking external sport and PDHPE programs. Funding programs available to Australian primary schools can make a material difference. They can cover anything from a single term of structured delivery to an ongoing weekly program.

As a registered provider across multiple funding programs, our PDHPE and sports programs qualify for grant-funded delivery. Our team helps schools identify which programs they qualify for, how to apply, and how to structure a booking around available funding.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Funding programs available to schools

Sporting Schools

Funded by the Australian Government, the Sporting Schools program is built to increase structured sport participation in primary schools. Eligible schools apply through the portal, nominate a registered provider, and receive funding to cover delivery. All of our programs qualify, and our team supports the application from start to finish.

Active Kids vouchers

The Active Kids program provides eligible families with vouchers to use towards registered sport programs. Schools that use Active Kids vouchers as part of their booking can reduce the per-student cost and increase participation. Our team can advise on how to incorporate this for your school.

School budget and P&C funding

For schools where grant funding doesn’t fully cover the cost, our team can work with coordinators and P&C committees to structure a program within the school’s allocated budget. Programs can be scaled to specific year groups or split across terms.

Application support

Our team helps schools through the application process for every funding program we work within, including eligibility checks, program documentation, and provider information. Contact our team before you submit any application.

CURRICULUM & OUTCOMES

Programs eligible for grant funding

All programs delivered through grant-funded pathways are mapped to the PDHPE K-6 syllabus for the relevant stage, providing outcome documentation to coordinators each term. Schools that need weekly teacher release can structure grant-funded delivery alongside our group release programs to manage both curriculum delivery and timetable coverage from a single provider.

We hadn’t looked at Sporting Schools for a couple of years and assumed it had become more complicated.

We hadn’t looked at Sporting Schools for a couple of years and assumed it had become more complicated. Our coordinator spent about twenty minutes on the application with Educ8’s help, and the program was confirmed the following week.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMS

How Funding Works

Each funding program has its own application process, eligibility criteria, and round schedule. The best starting point is a conversation with our team, who can confirm which programs your school qualifies for and what the next step is for each one.

FAQs

In some cases, yes. Sporting Schools and Active Kids vouchers can potentially be used together, depending on the structure of the program and the eligibility criteria in each round. Our team can advise on what is possible for your situation.

Grant-funded programs deliver the same content, mapped to the same PDHPE outcomes, with the same qualified teachers and outcome documentation. Funding affects the cost to the school, not the quality or scope of delivery.

For Sporting Schools, we recommend starting at least eight weeks before your intended program start date. Contact our team early so we can confirm eligibility and build the application timeline into your schedule.

The process is straightforward once you have what you need. Our team provides the program details and provider information required to complete the portal application. Most first-time applicants find it takes less than half an hour with support.

Sporting Schools and Active Kids are primarily structured around primary schools. Secondary schools may have access to other local or state-based programs. Contact our team, and we can advise on what is available in your school’s context.
