OVERVIEW

Wellbeing in the primary school context

Wellbeing sits across two strands of the PDHPE K-6 syllabus: the personal development strand and the health strand. Most schools find it straightforward to cover physical activity outcomes but harder to deliver structured, documentable wellbeing content without specialist support.

As part of our PDHPE and sports programs across Australia, wellbeing sessions fit into your existing timetable, with the same teachers supporting each cohort throughout the program. Leadership and social skills are integrated into the content rather than delivered as separate modules.

Each session comes with outcome documentation covering the relevant PDHPE wellbeing, personal development, and health outcomes, provided to coordinators before the term begins. The program also extends to secondary schools on request.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

What the program covers

Resilience and personal development

Sessions build personal agency, self-regulation, and the ability to manage challenges, grounded in the PDHPE personal development outcomes for the relevant stage. Content and activities are calibrated to the stage being delivered.

Leadership development

Leadership is embedded in the program through structured group activities where students practice decision-making, communication, and responsibility. At Stage 3, leadership and officiating roles are built into the session design so students experience it directly rather than in theory.

Social skills and peer relationships

The social skills component addresses the relational aspects of the PDHPE syllabus, including respectful relationships, cooperative behaviour, and conflict resolution. Sessions give students structured practice in situations that reflect what the syllabus asks coordinators to assess.

Qualified teachers

Every teacher holds current NESA accreditation and a valid Working with Children Check. Sessions are planned for the specific stage being delivered, not adapted from a generic format.

Documentation and reporting

Outcome documentation is provided before the program begins, covering the relevant PDHPE wellbeing, personal development, and health outcomes. Schools use this for curriculum records and reporting without having to generate it themselves.

CURRICULUM & OUTCOMES

Structured by stage, mapped to NESA outcomes

Each stage has its own wellbeing content, with PDHPE outcomes mapped against it and documentation provided before the program begins. Schools running our fitness programs alongside wellbeing delivery can have both covered by the same team.

FAQs

Each session is mapped to PDHPE wellbeing outcomes for the relevant stage, supporting curriculum delivery and records.

The program is mapped to the PDHPE syllabus, not drawn from a generic wellbeing framework. The outcomes, language, and session design reflect the specific stage being delivered.

The program addresses curriculum wellbeing outcomes specifically. It can sit alongside a school’s pastoral care framework without duplicating it, as the focus is on the PDHPE outcomes rather than on general school wellbeing initiatives.

Sessions are designed for the cohort as a whole, grounded in the PDHPE syllabus rather than therapeutic frameworks. Schools with students who need additional support should speak to our team at the time of booking.
